🚒 Firefighter Dan came to visit us today in room 2! 🚒We learnt what a Firefighters job role includes and tried on his heavy safety equipment. I wonder if your child can share what they have learnt? What do we shout if we see a fire? What do we do in an emergency? Can u spot your smoke detector in your house? Every household must contain smoke detectors on every level of their home. Firefighter Dan recommended to contact our local fire department where these can be obtained should you require one. A big thank you to Dan for taking time out of his day off to come and visit us, we all had a great time! 🚒 ... See MoreSee Less

Our Room 2 children made us very proud today with their fantastic behaviour and listening while out on our school trip to Waltham Windmill. We were all very excited to go on a coach together. When we arrived, we split into our groups to explore the Museum, inside the Windmill, and to enjoy a ride on the train. 🚂All the children behaved impeccably and thoroughly enjoyed our morning out. There were lots of positive comments about riding on a coach and a train; definitely highlights of the morning! A big thank you to all our parent helpers who joined us on our adventure. We value your support and hope you enjoyed the trip as much as the children and staff did. Also a big thank you to the Waltham Windmill Society for making us so welcome. ... See MoreSee Less

“There’s a Shark in the Park!” 🦈 The children in room 1 have loved our story of the week and have thrown their all into learning through play! We have recalled the story, remembering the phrases throughout. We have used our telescopes to look up, down, left, right and all around promoting directional and positional language and understanding. The children independently role played using props of their own choice! We experimented with rhyming words in the book but discovered other words that rhyme too! Thank you to all that sent in their photographs from home of the children at different parks. We talked about the differences and similarities, such as some have a playground and some just have trees. The children loved talking about their experiences within the group!A very exciting time had by all! Next week we will continue with our ‘under the sea’ theme by introducing the story ‘The Singing Mermaid’ 🧜‍♀️ In addition to this we will be celebrating ‘World Ocean Day’ throughout the week! ... What a treat Room 2 had this morning with a visit from PC Wilkinson. We learnt about the role of a police officer; to keep us safe and protect us from those that make ‘bad choices’. We all had a little taster of what it would be like to be a police officer ; trying on a jacket and a hat, and sitting inside the police car where we learnt why it has flashing lights and very loud sirens! We all had a great time! Thank you PC Wilkinson for sharing your job role with us today. 👮🚓 ... See MoreSee Less
