Waltham Pre-School is committed to providing the highest standards of childcare and pre-school education in a relaxed, caring and happy environment which is safe and secure and allows all children the opportunity to develop skills, concepts and knowledge through play.
Nursery
There are two specialist play areas, furnished with high quality equipment supplied by Community Playthings, a sleep area, a changing room and a laundry.
The room has an adjacent secure outdoor play area allowing free flow play. The children also have access to a larger sensory garden encouraging exploratory play and vegetable plots where we grow our own vegetables.
Room 1
Room 1 is for children aged 2-3 years of age.
Our 2-3 year old room provides the best experiences for your children, considering every stage of development. We recognise that your children are really starting to find their ‘feet’ and often want to feel independent as well as supported.
Creative play has an on-going place within our room. Our children have access to a variety of mark making and messy play materials; crayons, painting easel, playdough, sand, mud and water with a lot of mess but plenty of fun!
Developing self-help skills such as being toilet trained or finding their own coat, is our way of ensuring we prepare the children with life skills they need to thrive. Children know where their own personal belongings are kept such as own bags, coats and lunch box, providing a sense of belonging, encouraging them to become more independent.
Room 2
Practitioners in Room 2 are dedicated to ensuring your child’s final year at preschool is fun, challenging and stimulating through play based activities and adult and child initiated learning.
In this room your child’s individual needs will be met, equipping them with the tools they need to complete the final phase of learning and development before heading off to their new adventure at ‘big’ school.
