Emotional Wellbeing

Interventions through literature

Stories are a powerful way to introduce and reinforce important aspects of social and emotional learning.

Young children may experience a variety of emotions in response to:
• A new sibling
• Moving house
• Being left at pre-school
• Divorce
• Bereavement

Warning signs could be:
• A change in the child’s behaviour
• Emotionally volatile
• Inability to interact with peers
• Struggling to learn

Short 1-1 sessions with your child can be incorporated into their day, to improve their emotional resilience. Please see your key person or any member of staff if you have any concerns regarding your child’s emotional well-being.
